Bharatanatyam
Bharatanatyam is presumably the oldest classical art form of Indian tradition and is regarded as a mother of many other Indian dance forms. It is a romantic medley of “bhava’, “raga” and “thala”. The theory behind the musical notes, vocal performance, and the dance movements trace back to the ancient Natya Shastra, and many Sanskrit and Tamil texts such as the Abhinaya Darpana.
